What is a LIFE Talk:

LIFE Talks are pro-life speeches that inspire, educate and raise lots of money.

The length of a talk is not as important
as the impact it delivers.

Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream speech” was only 17 minutes long.

Sometimes less is more.

LIFE Talks are perfect for fundraising banquets,
dinners, galas, and similar events.

Why is it important to inspire?

What others are saying:

"Beau is a powerful force of motivation and inspiration for any audience.
He captures the attention and respect of those he addresses with his own heartfelt enthusiasm for the cause of life."

Executive Director, Coastal Choices Women’s Clinic

What makes me different from other speakers?

How I can help

I will do everything in my power to help you raise more money.

My LIFE Talk is designed to raise money.

It was created to connect your donors to your mission. It puts them in the story and makes them the hero.

They will be inspired to give more money to create the change they want to see in the world!

FAQs

Inspired by TED Talks, they can be as short as 18 minutes, and can be customized for your event. The length of a talk is less important than the content it delivers. Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream speech” was only 17 minutes long. President Bush’s 9/11 speech was less than five, but it galvanized a nation in crisis. Sometimes less is more.

Yes. Over the past 20 years I have helped to plan and execute over 50 fundraising dinners, lunches, and breakfasts. I have been where you are. I have prayed that clients will show up and that their babies will be in a good mood. I have delivered the keynote. I have watched in horror as the speaker we hired crashed and burned. I have recruited table hosts, assigned seating to a thousand guests, and even chosen centerpieces—my least favorite thing in the world! My experience has taught me how to raise funds at events. I want to use my experience to help you.

I have nine years of fundraising experience: two as a Development Director and seven as Executive Director. My organization’s budget has doubled over the past seven years. I am a student of fundraising. I know what works and what doesn’t.

My first job in pro-life ministry was teaching abstinence-until-marriage to middle and high school students. I delivered hundreds of speeches in public and private schools, often to sleepy, hostile audiences. I learned to win them over. I was promoted after a year and coached a team of educators to become effective public speakers. I now run First Care Women’s Clinic, one of the largest clinics in the country. I have a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Liberty University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

More importantly though, I have a gift for public speaking. I feel a little silly saying it, but there is no other way to describe it. God has given me the ability to communicate effectively with large groups. I want to use my gift to bring Him glory.

Definitely! Try and stop me 🙂 I love to share what I have learned from my decades of banquet and fundraising experience. Ultimately though, I work for you. I will do anything from simply showing up and speaking, to helping you prepare your Executive Director’s report, to giving you feedback on the giving card. I’ll even weigh-in on your centerpiece if you twist my arm!

No, at least not in the way that Kirk Cameron or Tim Tebow are. I have become prominent in pregnancy center circles over the past few years. I have spoken at CareNet, Pre-Born, Samaritan Summit, and am regularly featured on Moody Radio South Florida. My clinic team and I have become well-known for our early adoption of telehealth, and for our willingness to share our strategy with anyone who asks.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. A famous speaker like Tim Tebow (my all-time favorite football player) is going to draw a huge crowd, but sometimes the crowd will only be there to see him and not to support you. A lesser-known speaker probably won’t help you draw a crowd, but they can sometimes be more effective in raising support. Less than Tim Tebow! My goal is to remain economical so that even smaller centers can afford to have me speak. I have a big family and run a busy ministry full-time, so I only do a limited number of engagements a year. Yes, spend as little as you need to, but not so little that they look chintzy. No one ever gave more because they loved your centerpiece. Don’t make them so tall that people can’t easily look over them. Let people take them home at the end of the night.

About Beau

I was born in Gainesville, Florida in the same hospital where my mother was born. While I only lived in Gainesville for a few years, I am a diehard Florida Gators fan and completely understand if you book Tim Tebow instead of me!

My parents were missionaries and as a child and teenager I was exposed to some of the poorest and most desperate places on the planet. While I never felt called to full-time church ministry, I always had a deep desire to serve God and others. This desire made me feel out-of-place in the secular world and landed me in the last place that I expected: Christian, pregnancy center ministry.

People always want to know how I wound up running a “women’s ministry”. I tell them that it isn’t a women’s ministry, but a ministry to women--zero percent of whom, got pregnant without a man. I work in pregnancy ministry because that is what God has called me to and equipped me for.

Those who know me well, tease me about the number of jobs I had before landing at First Care Women’s Clinic.

I was a restaurant host, janitor, public relations professional, warehouse stocker, parked cars at a five-star resort, sold jewelry, cell phones, cars, and even vacuum cleaners for two miserable weeks. And this is the short list!

I loved working all these different jobs because of the people that I met and the skills that I learned. I relished being called “college boy” at the parts warehouse. I enjoyed working as an airport janitor with a guy who wore a tracking bracelet on his ankle, and was under house arrest for punching someone in a bar.

I learned how to work hard, how to talk to people, and how to lead.

Now, I love being an Executive Director. I love helping other clinics learn and grow. I love asking for donations, even though it still makes me nervous sometimes. I love that I get to save lives and share the good news of Jesus!

I would love to get to know you, and if it helps you, speak at your event.
